Thursday, September 26 Blues Evolution – Open to ALL
1:00 pm to 2:20 pm – Nash Theatre
Blues Evolution with MSG Acoustic Blues Trio
Discussion on the evolution of the Piedmont Blues style, how it reflected life at that time and how it has influenced music styles since. MSG will treat the audience to a few songs along with a Q&A session.
Thursday, September 26 – Master Classes – Open to all students
2:30 pm Indie Music Class – Professional Development Class with Amy Aiken
In the 17-year lifespan of her Indie label, Northwind Records, Amy has seen and weathered industry changes. But for the Indie artist there are tools that every artist should have in place to build a successful career in the music industry. From album production to websites to tour management to pitfalls in the business, Amy has something to share. Bring your questions!
3:30 pm Songwriting – Welpe Theatre with Mike Aiken
In addition to being the festival founder, Mike Aiken has enjoyed a wide range of success as a professional songwriter and touring artist. He is happy to share his craft and insights. Bring your questions about songwriting and/or the business behind it.
4:30 pm Guitar – Nash Theatre Stage with Mike Aiken
Guitars have been by this artist’s side since elementary school. His style has evolved as different guitars came into his life. Learn what makes the right guitar for the job. Good for all skill levels. Likely there will be slide and finger-picking tips too. Bring questions and guitars but guitars are not mandatory.
Friday, September 27 – Songwriters in the Round Concert
